What I was worried about before joining Besty

I have had the experience of wanting to use English while traveling abroad or at work and finding myself unable to find the words right away, so I wanted my daughter to be able to communicate in English.
I thought that DWE would be able to achieve this goal compared to other teaching materials, so I purchased it when my daughter was four months old.

However, when I first purchased the DWE, I didn't even read the guide and just let the water flow freely, and I continued doing this for two years.
During that time, parents would get bored of the running water and would end up watching things like "Kodomo Challenge," "Educational TV," and "Anpanman," so there were many periods when they slacked off.

At that time, a friend who had a child of the same age said to me, "Maybe you shouldn't have bought it after all?" And even though my son has been in nursery school since he was 10 months old and his Japanese vocabulary is expanding rapidly,My English proficiency is limited to a few wordsAnd realized "If I continue to use the same method and don't change my approach, I'll never be able to speak! If I don't change my approach now, it will be too late!"With this in mind, I began to gather information on my own.

Why did you join Besty?

However, there was so much information on Instagram that I began to get confused about where to start. I watched the Instagram Live of many people who were promoting English at home, and among them, I had been watching Yume-chan's growth for a while. I also took the free first half of "The Seven Keys" and Yume-mama's words struck me the most. I had a hunch that "I want my daughter to become bilingual using DWE-based English at home like Yume-chan! Besty will tell me all the information I want!" So I decided to join Besty when it was time to take the 7 Keys course ❤️

The good thing about taking the light course

When I joined, I had decided to cancel the light course after taking the "Seven Keys" course.
but,After joining the light course, there was a lot of information about past regular meetings, tea parties, and Q&A sessions, and I couldn't stop taking notes, so I stayed up all night every day looking through the archives..

I am currently continuing with the light course for several reasons: I couldn't understand it immediately after watching it once, so I wanted to watch it again and again; there was a lot of information in Opcha that I didn't know as I'm only in my second year of learning English at home (such as the existence of elves), so I still have a lot to learn; and it helps to keep me motivated.

I was able to participate in Opcha even on the light course, and being able to see the efforts of various people and the videos of the Besty Kids was a big factor in my decision to continue the course. It was.

Advice I received from Bestie

I tried incorporating what I learned from the 7 Keys and the archives, and two months after joining, I received advice in Tomomi and Ikue's Marutto Kaiketsu video, "You're fine with what you're doing now! I think it would be a good idea to start by getting your Light Blue Cap!"
I had been casually applying for the CAP, but I started working seriously towards it, and in December I was able to obtain the light blue cap.
Obtaining CAP also motivated me.
I realized that I had been so anxious looking at posts from other DWE users on Instagram that I hadn't been paying attention to my daughter's interests and growth. It also gave me the opportunity to do so.

Changes in children

In our home, we only used DWE materials as a tool, such as showing the DWE DVD to keep our children well-behaved while we did housework like preparing dinner. However, after joining Besty and taking the "Seven Keys" course, DWE's position changed to a tool that parents and children can enjoy together.
My daughter no longer says, "I hate English! I want to watch Anpanman!" and now says, "Today I'm going to watch Donna!" and watches the DWE materials in the morning, just like watching her favorite DVD. I feel like she is enjoying watching DWE every day.

The other day, we went to the zoo and saw giraffes, kangaroos and elephants. My daughter commented, "Who took the peanuts?" and was able to think about it in relation to everyday life.

My husband and I were surprised to see that they were able to switch between Japanese and English, replying "You're welcome" to "Thank you" and "You're welcome."

The time when I feel I have grown the most is when I participate in events.

The photo shows the play-along show at a weekend event I participated in in September.
She had a nap and a meal and was fine until the event started, but as soon as it started she started sucking her thumb... It's a habit she does when she's daydreaming or nervous 😅

After joining Besty, he was able to sit alone in the front row at a Halloween event (at the age of 2 years and 4 months).

I never expected them to be so engrossed in the event, and when a mother with a child of the same age nearby said to me, "It's amazing that you were able to participate so fully!"My daughter has been watching the older sisters and older brothers who used to enjoy participating in the event and wants to be like them.I remember being very happy at the thought.

This could be seen as a result of her development over time, but I feel that it is thanks to Besty that we are able to enjoy DWE so much. We have made plans to meet other Besty-aged children at future events, so I hope to expand our network and help my daughter make friends who can speak English to us. (Like the children of the instructors...🥰) I'm so glad that we met Besty, who has shed light on our dark days of English at home!
