手や足を左右別々に動かしたり、両方いっしょに動かしたりして、リズムに合わせて楽しめるのがポイント。

《💿【48】Look Up! The Sun Is Shining》の流れで出会う《Where Is Your Right Hand?》系の「体を動かす歌」は、DWEの中でもとても“良い教材”is.
なぜなら、耳だけではなく体も使って、英語をそのまま感覚で理解できるから。
right / left / both のような方向語,wave / clap / hop / jump / turn のような動作語、そして命令文の型が、リズムに乗って反復されます。
説明より先に、体が反応する英語が増えていきますよ🧺🌱
1.Checking the basics
① 疑問詞 where（どこ？）
where は場所や位置をたずねる疑問詞で、「どこ？」という意味です。
DWEではとくに「体の部位＋位置」をたずねる形が分かりやすく、すぐに遊びになります。
Where is your right hand?（右手はどこ？）
Where is your left foot?（左足はどこ？）
Where are my shoes?（靴どこ？）
基本の語順はシンプルで、
- Where + be動詞 + 主語 ?
Where is your right hand?
一般動詞で場所をたずねるときは、
- Where + do/does + 主語 + 動詞 ?
Where do you live?
ただし今回のお歌では「体の場所」を聞いていますので、まずは Where is〜？ の型を育てましょう。
② 命令文（動詞の原形で始まる）
体を動かす歌に必ず出てくるのが命令文。
命令文は 主語（You）を省略して、動詞の原形から始まる のが特徴is.
Wave your right hand!（右手を振って！）
Clap with both hands!（両手で手をたたいて！）
Turn around!（回って！）
命令文の否定形は、
- Don’t + 動詞の原形
Don’t turn left!（左に曲がらないで！）
「命令」と聞くと強く感じますが、幼児向けの歌や遊びでは「指示」「合図」「ゲームのルール」くらいの軽さで使われます。ご家庭でも扱いやすいと思います。
2.DWE research
この曲には、“段階”で落とし込みがしやすくなっています。

- both（両方）でまとめる
という流れ。
しかも、それが 手→足→体の向き と部位を変えながら繰り返されます。
代表的なパートをイメージすると、

Clap with both hands!
次は足に移って
Hop on your right foot! / Hop on your left foot!
Jump with both feet!
最後は向きで、
Turn to your right side! / Turn to your left side!
Turn around!
この曲が素晴らしいのは、単語を単独で覚えさせるのではなく、質問→動作→まとめ という形で、意味と体験をセットにしているところです。
「右って何？」ではなく、「右ってこう動く！」を体に染み込ませることができます。
これがまさに DWEの強みですね🧺✨
3.Difficulties in learning English at home
✅ ① right / left が混乱しやすい
子どもはもちろん、大人だって簡単な英語ですら瞬時に判断するのは意外と難しいですよね。
ここで大事なのは「正しく言わせる」より「歌と動きで何度も体験する」thing.
反復することで、自然に意味が身体に入っていきます。
✅ ②hop と jump の違いが曖昧
hop は片足、jump は両足。説明すると簡単ですが、言葉だけで覚えると混乱します。
だからこそ、この曲のようにhop（片足）→ jump（両足） と対になって出るのが理想的。体で違いを覚えます。
✅ ③命令文＝強い言い方に感じる
家庭で「命令形」を使うのに抵抗があるママもいます。
でも幼児期は、命令文はむしろ “遊びの合図”。
声のトーンを明るくするだけで、命令ではなくゲームになりますよ。
4.What I want to input with this song
この曲で育てたいのは、 「指示が英語で分かる体験」 is.
特に次の4つ。
① where で位置を聞く
Where is your right hand?
Where is your left foot?
「指さして答える」だけでも十分。
言えるようにするより先に、分かる を作るのがベスティ式の近道です。
② right / left / both の感覚
right hand / left hand / both hands
right foot / left foot / both feet
“both” は単語としては難しそうに見えますが、両手・両足の動作が入ると一気に分かりやすくなります。
「片方ずつ→両方！」の流れが、まさに理解の補助線になります。
③ 動作動詞を“命令文の塊”で持つ
この曲の動作動詞は、家庭の遊びで使いやすいものばかりです。
・wave（振る）
・clap（手をたたく）
・hop（片足で跳ぶ）
・jump（両足で跳ぶ）
・turn（向きを変える）
ここは単語単体ではなく、
・Wave your right hand!
・Clap with both hands!
・Hop on your left foot!
・Jump with both feet!
・Turn around!
のように、フレーズで落とし込むのがコツです。
④「体を使う英語」はアウトプットの土台になる
体を使う歌で、英語が「意味」ではなく「反応」として入ると、その後のアウトプット期に強いです。
「聞こえたら動ける」「言われたらできる」というリアルな経験は、使える英語への自信に直結します。

① 「Where? タイム」
Before changing clothes or brushing teeth,
Where is your right hand?（右手どこ？）
Where is your left foot?（左足どこ？）
子どもが触ったらOK。
“場所を意識する”だけで英語が入ります。
② 「ママが指示役」のミニゲームにする
Wave your right hand!
Clap with both hands!
Turn around!
テンポよく言うだけで、英語の運動会が始まります。
できたら「Good job!」を一言添えると、遊びが続きますよ。
③ hop / jump を「音」で分ける
hop は軽く、jump は大きく。
言葉の違いを、動きの大きさで印象づけると覚えやすいです。
Hop! Hop!（ぴょんぴょん）
Jump!（どーん！）
④right / left は“同じ流れ”で固定する
毎回同じ順番にすると定着が早いです。
right → left → both
6.Mini Trivia
・both は “two” に近い感覚で、「2つとも」という意味.両手・両足だけでなく、二択にも使えます。
例：I like both.（どっちも好き）
・turn は「曲がる」だけでなく「向きを変える」「回る」も表せます。
Turn right（右に曲がって）
Turn around（回って）
どちらも同じ turn で表せるのが面白いところです。
・wave は手を振る以外に、旗が揺れる “wave” ともつながります。
子どもの中で「揺れる・ひらひら」が一本の線になります。
7.summary
この曲は、疑問詞 where と命令文を土台にしながら、right / left / both と動作動詞（wave / clap / hop / jump / turn）を、体験としてインプットできる“学びの強い歌”です🧺✨

散歩で家を出たらまずこの曲を歌うことで、お外の英語スイッチをONにします。
繰り返しの曲なので、大人も案外すぐに覚えられてしまいます！
育休の間毎日のようにお出かけし、そのときにこの歌を手を繋いで歩きながら歌っていたので、数年後この曲を聞いたらおうち英語に奮闘しながら子育てを楽しんでいる今この瞬間のことを思い出す気がしています。
