This time, we will use the lyrics of "💿【38】Mickey and His Friends," featured in DWE Blue, and the contents of the corresponding "📙BOOK3" as seeds to cultivate the seeds of learning "English at Home"📝🌱

1 Introduction of the venue

This time, we will use the lyrics of "💿【38】Mickey and His Friends," featured in DWE Blue, and the contents of the corresponding "📙BOOK3" as seeds to cultivate the seeds of learning "English at Home"📝🌱

This song depicts a scene where students search for the main characters that appear in the DWE teaching materials in a book.

The lyrics feature familiar characters, making this a song that will be your first opportunity to recognize the characters and match their names with their appearances.

My daughter also loves this character book, and even though the content is simple, she was able to naturally become familiar with the characters 😊💖

The link between singing and play will be even stronger if children find their favorite characters and ask, "Where's Mickey?" and "Here he is!", or have fun together using pointing and cards.

Your attachment to the characters will also motivate you to continue learning English.

By inputting words together with the feeling of "I love it!", your world of words will expand more and more!

3 Column: A quick read on the basics of the interrogative word "Where," imperative sentences, and will/there constructions!

Here is the key phrase of this song 👇

Where is Mickey?(Where's Mickey?)
Look in your book and you'll see them.(Look in the book and you'll find it.)

Interrogative word Where

1️⃣ First, ask "Where?"

where=Where? Just remember this one word ☺️

  • Where is Mickey?
  • Where are Pluto's friends?(plural are)

2️⃣ Next time, try answering "Here!"

Just add one "place word (preposition)" and you can get a cute answer 🌷

Mini Preposition Dictionary

  • in(inside)/ on(above)/ under(below)
  • behind(behind)/ next to(next to)

example)

  • He's under the table!(It's under the table!)
  • She's behind the curtain!(Behind the curtain!)

3️⃣ "Discovery phrase" when you find it

A set of words to get you excited ♡

  • There he is! / There she is!(there was!)
  • There they are!(Everyone was there!)

How to play at home (super easy)

STEP A:listenWhere is Mickey?
STEP B:SearchLook in your book…(Imperative sentences = start with a verb)
STEP C: Find…and you'll See him!(you'll = you will / you'll see it soon)

👉 Hide a stuffed animal in your room,

  • Mom:Where is Mickey?
  • child:Under the chair!There he is!

Books, cards, toys, anything is OK. Just repeat the process of **reproduce → discover** and you'll absorb English easily.

A little development

  • the place where Mickey is(The "place" where Mickey is)
It may look difficult, but it just uses "where" as an explanation. If you can say it, clap!

miniPhrase cards (for speaking)

  • Where is ___?(Where is ___?)
  • Look in/on/under/behind/next to ___.(Look at ___)
  • There ___ is!(there was!)
  • Look in your book and you'll See them.(If you look in the book, you'll find it.)

The key is to keep it short and repeat it🐭💛
Mom can leave the difficult grammar for later.
"Where?" → "Place word" → "I found it!"3 stepsSo, let's start learning English at home♪

auxiliary verb will

Next, let's talk about the auxiliary verb "will."

will= What's next It is an auxiliary verb that conveys
It has two main meanings: "I expect that..." and "I intend to...".

Let's start with some simple patterns and encouragement ☺️

1️⃣ First, just make the shape

  • positive:I'll / You'll / He'll / She'll / It'll …(=will (shortened)
example)You'll see Mickey.(I can see Mickey now)
  • denial:won't(=will not)
    example)He won't cry.(I won't cry)
  • Questions:Will + subject + verb…?
    example)Will Minnie catch the ball?(Will Minnie catch it?) 📘Book 6, p.37
→ How to answer:Yes, she will. / No, she won't.

2️⃣ At times like these, "will"

  1. Prediction (probably)
It'll rain later.(It's going to rain later.)
You'll see them in the book.(You'll find it in the book)
  2. Intention/Determination (to do something)
I'll tidy up now.(I'll clean up now)
  3. On-the-spot offer
    I'll help you!(I'll help you!)
  4. Promises and reassurance
    I won't be late.(I won't be late)
  5. A polite request
Will you open the box?(Can you open the box?)
  6. (thing) not listening
The toy won't turn on.(The toy won't turn on)

3️⃣ Phrases that can be used in songs and role-play

  • Look in your book and you'll See them.(If you look at the book, you'll see it.)
  • We'll take turns.(Let's do it in order)
  • If you blow the candle out, your wish will come true.(If you blow out the candle, your wish will come true)

4️⃣ Super easy ways to communicate at home

  • morning:We'll go after breakfast.(Let's go after breakfast.)
  • Tidying up:I'll put the blocks away. Will you help me?
  • play:You'll be the seeker. I'll hide!(You're a demon, I'll hide!)

miniPhrase cards (sticky and easy to use)🌟)

  • I'll ___.(I'll do it now)
  • Will you ___?(Would you do that?)
  • It'll ___.(It's going to be ~ from now on)
  • I won't ___.(I won't)
  • He/She won't ___.(Won't/won't do ~)

First I'll / You'll / Will you…? / won't Start by putting it in your mouth.
You will be able to use "will" in small everyday situations☺️

Imperative sentences = sentences that briefly tell someone what you want them to do.
The point is "Start with the base form of the verb / omit the subject (you)" is all you need☺️

imperative sentence

1️⃣ The easiest type

  • Look in your book and you'll see them.
"Look at the book.ThenYou'll find it."
Look was the command.and you'll… is the signal that connects the "result"✨

And more...

  • Open the box!(Open the box!)
  • Find Mickey!(Find Mickey!)
  • Please sit down.(Please sit down)Please Adding this gives a softer impression 💐

2️⃣ "Don't do that" is as simple as "Don't"

  • Don't run!(Don't run)
  • Don't touch it.(I won't touch it)
When you want to say it more strongly Never ~(Never do that).

3️⃣ A "calling set" that can be used immediately at home

  • Look under the table.(Looking under the table)
  • Open your present!(Open your presents!)
  • Guess what's inside.(Guess what's inside)
  • Clean up your toys, please.(Let's put away the toys.)

👉 The trick is "Short, smiling, and repeated"
Lines from songs and picture booksReproduced as isJust by doing this, you will be able to easily grasp the rhythm of imperative sentences.

miniPhrase cards (sticky and easy to use)🌟)

  • Look in/on/under/behind…(Look at ~)
  • Open / Close / Find / Bring / Put
  • Please~.(Careful)/ Don't ~.(prohibited)

Let's start with the "Look ... and you'll ..." pattern.🌷
This creates a flow of "call → find" so it's perfect for picture hunting, hide-and-seek, and gift-giving games.

There is / There are= "There is/is there" It's a very useful form to say
The singular is There is, plural There are We use.

there

1️⃣ Basic type (just this for starters)

  • There's a cat under the table.
    (There's a cat under the table.There areYo)※There's = There is
  • There are two balloons on the sofa.
(There are balloons on the sofa. There are twoYo)

Commonly used prepositions:in / on / under / behind / next to / between etc.

2️⃣ Discovery phrase (I found it!)

  • There he is! / There she is!(there was!)
  • There they are!(Everyone was there!)
    Perfect for hide-and-seek, picture-hunting, and character-finding games!

3️⃣ Negation, doubt, and numbers are easy

  • denial:There isn't a car. / There aren't any cars.
  • Questions:Is there a cookie? / Are there Any cookies?
    └ How to answer:Yes, there is/are. / No, there isn't/aren't.
  • Asking for a number:How many balloons are there?
    There are three.(There are three)

Tip:a/an(1)/some(some)/any(Interrogative/negative: "anything/nothing")

4️⃣ A "calling set" that can be used immediately at home

  • There's Mickey in the book! (There's Mickey in the book)
  • There are blocks under There is a block under the chair.
  • Is there a car in Is there a car in the box?
  • How many crayons are there? (How many crayons do you have?)
  • Tidying up:There are Three Cars on the floor. Let's put them away!

5️⃣ Mini practice (30-second game)

  1. Mom puts some toys in the room.
  2. Where is…? Search → If you find There it is!
  3. There is/are + preposition And I'll tell you the location too.
example)There's a ball behind the curtain!

First There's… / There are… and There he/she/they are! Just these two patterns are OK.
By linking it to character-finding songs and picture books, it will easily become "your own words" 🌱

Playing with cards (Erinki-san)

It comes with character cards, so we played a game of picking up the cards like karuta while singing.

This is a game that can be enjoyed if you know the Disney characters, so 2-year-old I-chan had a lot of fun!

This game requires two people, a singer and a catcher, but it can also be played by playing an audio file and catching the pieces in the order they appear.

After having fun with the cards and getting used to the songs and games,

I think children will also enjoy playing a treasure hunt-like game where they hide Disney character stuffed animals or puppets from the teaching materials throughout the room and search for them while singing!

If your child grows to love Disney characters, they will be able to enjoy DWE even more, so this is a recommended activity for children in the input stage 😆❣️

💭 A word from the blog administrator
The transition from "Singing x Karuta" to "Room-wide Treasure Hunt" is amazing...!
Starting with what you like, expanding from two dimensions (songs and pictures) to three dimensions (play and experiences) is the classic Besty way!
Cards today, stuffed toys tomorrow... Expanding the world little by little will really bring you closer to English 😊🌸
If you keep it fun, you'll soon see the seeds of English growing at home. Don't rush, just enjoy it at your own pace!
